{"id":2108,"date":"2011-06-06T07:23:26","date_gmt":"2011-06-06T06:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.colinmcnulty.com\/blog\/?p=2108"},"modified":"2011-06-06T07:25:31","modified_gmt":"2011-06-06T06:25:31","slug":"weekend-of-pdrspear-training-in-gorey-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colinmcnulty.com\/blog\/2011\/06\/06\/weekend-of-pdrspear-training-in-gorey-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend of PDR\/SPEAR Training in Gorey, Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post is a little over due but a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attended a 3 day weekend of Personal Defence Readiness (PDR) training and workshops in Gorey, Ireland at <a href=\"http:\/\/focusmartialarts.com\/\">Daragh Bolton&#8217;s Focus Martial Arts<\/a> club.<\/p>\n<p>Senior SPEAR Instructor Neil Wilson, myself and fellow PDR Coach <a href=\"http:\/\/www.FifeKickBoxing.co.uk\/\">Charles Shanks<\/a> flew over from the UK and were joined by <strong>4 PDR Coaches from Ireland for a weekend of fun and bruises<\/strong>.  Briefly, the weekend went like this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> A day of ground fighting Coaches&#8217; training on the Friday<\/li>\n<li>Drinking till the early hours of Saturday morning with the Irish!<\/li>\n<li>We ran a 20+ person PDR workshop on the Saturday<\/li>\n<li>Followed by more drinking with the Irish to even later on Sunday morning!!<\/li>\n<li>A slightly hung over day of further Coaches&#8217; training &#8211; knife work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As with the Martial Arts Show a few weeks earlier, this excellent video was put together by Neil.  It&#8217;s hard to work out who&#8217;s who when we&#8217;ve all got High Gear suits on, but <strong>I&#8217;m the only one with brown trainers<\/strong> on:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpv_videoc\">\n<div class=\"wpv_self\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.skarcha.com\/wp-plugins\/wpvideo\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">WPvideo 1.10<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"wpv_titleauthor\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wpv_video\"><object data=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/16TUrH1nvGo\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/16TUrH1nvGo\"><\/param><\/object><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>It was an amazing weekend and I am very lucky to be part of a small but very enthusiastic PDR community in the UK and Ireland.
